Sharon and Andrew are expecting their first daughter and wanted maternity photos on the beach to remember this very special season of life. When I asked about what keywords they would use to describe the outcomes of the session, they said they wanted their maternity photos to capture the emotional range of this time in their familys journey to parenthood happiness, anticipation, and excitement.
We chose Montara State Beach near Half Moon Bay for their maternity photos. Its less crowded than San Francisco beaches and has a mix of both greens, sand, and blues to make for a breathtaking natural background for maternity photography. Due to the lack of crowding, you can get more relaxed poses, and have a ton of opportunities to get both close-up and wide angle photos. If youre considering a laid back, quiet beach maternity photoshoot at sunset and/or golden hour, I highly recommend Montara State Beach!
