I-Wen and Calvin’s San Francisco City Hall wedding was everything that is special about intimate celebrations — quiet, intentional, and deeply felt. I was there for all of it: the way they held hands throughout, sharing warmth; the way his hand naturally found her waist, a gentle reassurance that he was right there with her; the pure excitement of calling each other husband and wife for the first time.

I-Wen and Calvin weren’t performing for the camera. They were fully present with each other, and that’s exactly what you’ll see in their gallery.
About I-Wen and Calvin
I-Wen and Calvin reached out to me after their wedding, hoping to recreate some bridal portraits at City Hall. I-Wen wore a stunning Anthropologie BHLDN gown with intricate floral details—the kind of dress that photographs beautifully in the warm light of the hallways. Her makeup and hair was done by Grace Lin Make Up, whose signature soft glam look was perfect for the setting. My favorite detail of Calvin’s was the heirloom watch his dad had gifted him for the wedding—a quiet, meaningful thing that meant so much more than anything you could buy.

There is no better place for first portraits as husband and wife than San Francisco City Hall. The architecture does so much of the work—the grand staircase, the rotunda arches, the fourth floor hallway with its tall windows and warm wall sconces. Every corner of that building tells a story.

If you’re considering San Francisco City Hall for your wedding or elopement, I’d love to be your photographer. I work with couples who want images that feel true to who they are—not staged, not performative, but deeply personal.
