Sonoma Wedding Photographer
Every time I drive up to Sonoma for a wedding, something in me settles. The hills, the vines, the way the light behaves up here. There’s a pace to wine country that I love, and I think the couples who choose Sonoma feel it too. Something about this place makes everyone a little more present.
Documenting weddings in Sonoma wine country is genuinely one of my favorite things I get to do as a Sonoma wedding photographer. My approach is elevated documentary-style, which in practice means I’m not running you through a shot list or engineering poses. I’m paying attention. I’m watching for the real moments, and I’m making sure they’re preserved exactly as they happened.
Feel free to inquire here if you’re interested in working with me!

What I Love About Photographing Weddings in Sonoma
Sonoma has this quality that I find hard to describe but easy to recognize on a wedding day. It’s warmer and a little more relaxed than anywhere else in the Bay Area. The couples who get married here tend to be people who want their guests to feel truly welcomed, not just impressed. And that translates into weddings that feel genuine from start to finish.
I’ve photographed autumn mornings at Sonoma wineries where the vines were amber and the air was cool and quiet. I’ve watched first looks unfold between vineyard rows, where the only sound was someone trying not to cry. I’ve been on dance floors so full of joy and energy that I forgot I was working.
That’s what I show up hoping to find at every Sonoma wedding. And it’s almost always there.

Sonoma Venues I’ve Had the Honor of Photographing
Viansa Winery
Viansa is a hillside winery in Sonoma with long views across the valley and a ceremony space that I think about often. It’s the kind of setting where you don’t need to manufacture anything. The light does the work. I was there in late autumn for Lisa and George’s wedding, and what I remember most isn’t any single frame but the feeling of the whole day. There was a stillness to how Lisa and George moved through it. No rushing, no performing. Just two people who were genuinely happy to be there, surrounded by the people they loved most. Those are the weddings I carry with me.

The Barn at Harrow Cellars
What I love about The Barn at Harrow Cellars is how much texture the property has. The light shifts throughout the day as you move between spaces, and as a photographer there’s always somewhere interesting to work. Sarah and Justin’s wedding here is one I think about whenever someone asks me what a truly joyful wedding day looks like. The two of them were so present. You could feel it in the room from the moment the ceremony started to the very last song of the night. I came home from that wedding feeling genuinely lucky to do what I do.

What It’s Like to Work with Me
Before your wedding day, I do a timeline planning call with every couple. This is something I genuinely care about. I want to make sure you have real portrait time built in without it swallowing up the moments you’re actually looking forward to: the toasts, the first dance, the part of the evening where you look around and realize everyone you love is in one room. We plan it out together so nothing feels rushed.
On the day, I show up having done my homework. I know the light at your venue. I know the pace of a wedding day and how to stay out of the way when I should and step in gently when I need to. I will almost certainly cry at your vows. I’ve been photographing weddings long enough to stop being embarrassed about it.
Your gallery will have all of it. The beautiful stuff: the florals, the vineyard, the golden hour portraits. And the real stuff: the look on your dad’s face, your best friend laughing at exactly the wrong moment, the quiet glance between you and your partner right before you walked in. That’s what I’m there for.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you travel to Sonoma for weddings? Yes, all the time. I’m based in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sonoma is one of my most-loved areas to photograph in. I regularly shoot at venues across Sonoma, Healdsburg, Petaluma, and the surrounding wine country. Travel to Sonoma is included for most collections.
What Sonoma wedding venues have you photographed? I’ve photographed weddings at Viansa Winery and The Barn at Harrow Cellars, and I’m always excited when a couple introduces me to a venue I haven’t been to yet. Wine country has so many beautiful settings and I find that each one has its own character and light. I’ll get to know yours before the wedding day.
What is your photography style? Elevated documentary. That means I’m primarily observing and capturing your day as it unfolds rather than staging it. I do guide couple portraits with intention, but even those feel natural rather than posed. I hear from a lot of couples that they forgot I was there, which is honestly one of the best compliments I can receive.
How far in advance should I book for a Sonoma wedding? Sonoma dates fill up fast, especially September through November during harvest season. I’d suggest reaching out 9 to 12 months ahead for a peak season weekend. If your date is closer than that, still worth sending an inquiry. I occasionally have openings.
What does a full Sonoma wedding day look like with you? We start with a timeline call before the wedding to build out your portrait windows and make sure the day has a good rhythm. On the day I typically arrive during getting ready and stay through the reception. You’ll receive a full edited gallery afterward: every meaningful moment, every real reaction, every quiet detail I noticed along the way.
